Implementation of SuDS update from Defra
Defra aims to implement Schedule 3 of the Flood Water Management Act 2010 in April 2014, which will:
- establish a SuDS Approval Body (SAB)
- amend the automatic right to connect surface water to the public sewer.
Following a workshop for stakeholders hosted by Defra in February, three task and finish groups have been created to discuss the specific issues raised in consultation, these include Definition, National Standards guidance and Non-performance bonds guidance.
Two further groups were also created, the Virtual Evidence Network and the SuDS Policy Advisory Network.
