Illman Young Landscape Design work across the spectrum of design disciplines, combining our extensive experience with specialist skills. With SuDs our usual attention to detail and quality design is underpinned by expertise in hydrology and ecology. We have been exploring and investigating SuDs for the past eight years following a research project in partnership with the University of Gloucestershire, which was partially funded by the DTI. As part of the research project an in-house training program was developed to embed new SuDs design capabilities and create a strong and effective SuDS specialism within the practice.
We have a passion for integrated water design and our philosophy is that sustainable drainage systems can be attractive as well as functional. Our approach to each project is informed by the individual characteristics of the site, and a series of good practice guidelines we have developed to provide the client with best practice, working SuDs schemes which look good and are ecologically sensitive.
