Defra announcement on Schedule 3 (SuDS) commencement
Defra has restated their intention to work with stakeholders to address the issues which arose from the consultation on the National Standards for Sustainable Drainage earlier this year.
At a recent ADEPT meeting this collaborative approach, including the involvement of local authority representatives, was supported. In view of this and in recognition of calls for an adequate lead-in, Defra will not begin implementation of Schedule 3 of the Flood and Water Management Act in April 2013.
